Abortion, how do you decide?

I had to review this hub....
When it showed up with a broken link to the video I had placed in it, when first published. This was one of my first hubs, so it was good to revisit it. That led to me finding a new video to replace the one that had been lost.
Which is why you can now see:
Gianna Jessen Abortion Survivor in Australia Part 1 & 2
Guess God had a plan for today! (19th Feb 2011) hope you will watch the video, even if you ignore the hub!
Another revision, this time based on what I just watched (17th May 2012) and urge you to watch, the link is below and the video is on the page lower down.
Many folk leave this article before they read all and watch the videos, those people have already decided where they stand, anyone who will watch what is shown here, and watch it all, may change their mind, and as any decision is as good as the information it's made on, an intelligent person would review ALL the evidence before making a crucial decision.
Watch and decide
180 - The Movie
"We're having a baby"
Parents worldwide say just that, they are having a baby, not an embryo or a foetus, but a baby... so from the moment that the woman tests positive for her pregnancy she calls her baby a baby, unless she does not want the inconvenience of 'it', when 'it' becomes a foetus.
OK at this point junior has not much to distinguish him or her from a blob of flesh, but the features of mouth, nose and eyes can be made out!
But if 'mum' is unsure about having her baby, she can be forgiven for thinking that at this stage 'baby' is 'just a bundle of cells' and if she talks to pro abortionists, she will be encouraged to 'make her own choice' as to whether to have a 'termination' or carry on with the 'pregnancy'.
But there are some undeniable facts that need to be denied before the woman can terminate the baby:
- At the point of conception the male sperm conjoins with the female ovum and UNLESS God or man intervenes, a human being will be born 40 weeks later.
- We may call it termination, but what it really means is to deliberately kill a human being by a conscious act of our own will.
Now it is a woman's right to choose in those countries where the law allows abortion, and that is the worlds right, to make legal the death of a child for personal choice, that's why I stated 'unless God or man intervenes' - but please don't dress it up as something which hides behind a political agenda or a lifestyle choice.
Babies deserve to have the right to life also, and the time to stop a baby is BEFORE conception takes place.
The picture on the right is of an EIGHT WEEK OLD baby.
Now tell me that you cannot recognise this as a viable human being who deserves to be nurtured not killed.
If you want to kill your children legally, you are perfectly entitled to do so, but please don't try to make light of the fact, face up to it BEFORE you take the action, because MOST women who kill their babies have regret later and remorse and a deep feeling of guilt for having done so, and normally these feeling happen at exactly the wrong moment, i.e. when they are pregnant with a baby they want to bear, or even worse, when they want to conceive, but cannot.
Gianna Jessen Abortion Survivor in Australia Part 1
OK, after I made the changes to this hub, the 'powers that be' took the ads off it, which is fine, I don't write for money in any case, but it shows the hypocrisy that existed in our politically correct, but fascist world, that means that a hub that was open to public view for months, got changed once they looked at the contents.
The heading I see now says:
Warning: Advertising has been disabled on this Hub based on moderator review
It's called censorship, which is apparently OK these days!
So NOW I can put even more politically incorrect stuff in here, and I will try to promote it the maximum!
Below we see another video which shows a less successful live birth, take a long look at it, your baby may well be killed or left to die if they survive your attempt to have them blotted out of your life for convenience sake.
BY ten weeks old 'baby' has clearly identifiable features, like fingers forming and an eye starting to shape up, yet you will not be shown or informed about these things when you speak to an abortionist sympathiser.
To a degree I can understand. When a pregnant woman visits 'Planned Parenthood' (what a misnomer that is!) she is in probably in shock that she is expecting a baby child she never planned, the pro abortion advocate believes sincerely that they are best serving the woman's interests if they can gently arrange for the baby to be killed without causing the woman further distress.
At 16 weeks old our baby shown above is really coming along well, but mum will not normally have 'seen' her child to be, because at this point her abortion is a formality and nobody involved in the action will want to give any cause for second thoughts.
Our abortionist will want to carry out the abortion before 12 weeks if possible, because even a two week difference will make the abortion more problematic. AT this point abortion is normally carried out as follows:
Vacuum Aspiration or Suction
Is the most common method of abortion and is usually carried out between 7 and 12 weeks. Some doctors are skilled and willing enough to perform it up to 14 weeks. The cervix is dilated in stages and then a tube is passed into the uterus and the contents are removed by the use of an electric pump. Some clinics combine suction with a scrape of the uterus, using a spoon like instrument. The procedure usually takes about 10 minutes and is most often done under a general anaesthetic (the woman is not awake). Some clinics will do this type of abortion using local anaesthetic (the woman is awake).
So our ten week old baby shown above could be killed by being 'removed by the use of an electric pump' and to make sure, any remains could be removed 'with a scrape of the uterus, using a spoon like instrument' - Pleasant and remember, baby looks to be fully able to feel this manner of killing it.
And after 12-14 weeks we are looking at the following 'procedure':
Second Trimester Abortions (after 12/14 Weeks)
Different techniques are required for performing abortions after the 12/14-week stage. Each is used according to the skill and/or preference of the gynaecologist doing the operation. Time limits vary too, with each hospital/clinic setting its own guidelines. Some clinics won't do abortions between 14 and 17 weeks, but may refer you to one which does.
There are three main methods in use at the moment:
Dilatation And Curettage (D&C)
This technique is used between 12 and 16 weeks and is often combined with a vacuum aspiration. The contents of the uterus are removed with a scraping instrument called a curette, after the cervix has been dilated. A general anaesthetic is used.
Dilatation and Evacuation (D&E)
This technique is usually used between 12 and 16 weeks, but some skilled clinicians can perform it up to 24 weeks. The cervix is dilated and the doctor uses forceps, a curette and vacuum suction to remove the contents of the uterus.
The BPAS offers a two-stage procedure for late abortions. This takes two days. Under general anaesthetic the fluid sac around the fetus is broken and a substance derived from seaweed is inserted into the cervix. This gradually expands over the following day, opening the cervix. The evacuation of the uterus is then carried out under a second general anaesthetic.
Prostaglandins
Prostaglandins are normally used from 15 weeks onwards, especially in NHS clinics.
Prostaglandins are hormones, similar to those produced during labour, which cause the uterus to contract. The drug is given either as a vaginal pessary or as an injection either through the cervix into the uterus or through the abdomen. The fetus is delivered in the same way as a woman gives birth. This method can be quite painful and no anaesthetic is used although women can receive sedatives and pain relief tablets. A D&C usually follows this, with anaesthetic.
Let's be clear about this....
As already stated it HAS BECOME a woman's right to choose, however that was NOT the original intent to the Abortion Act 1967, which was designed to legalise abortion and give the authority to DOCTORS to decide whether an abortion was warranted. The law gave the rights and responsibility for decision making to doctors not women.
It did not legalise abortion, but allowed for exceptions to the illegality of abortion.
1966 became known as 'The Summer of Love' and what started as a sexual awakening in youth quickly became a sexual revolution.
It was Lucifer's finest hour, as he sat back and watched as a whole generation of youths threw out ALL of the 'old fashioned' thinking on morality, responsibility and authority.
I know, I was there as a storm trooper for Lucifer, although like most others I had no realisation that this was a time of destruction, rather than a time of creation. It felt good to kick over the establishment, to experiment with sex and drugs and rock 'n roll, and nobody thought that the outcome would be a complete degradation of society until it got to the point where 'good became bad and bad became good' - But it did and it is still getting worse and one of the worse things that has come out of this whole generational shift towards 'iniquity' has been that since that 1967 Abortion Act was approved...
6,300,000 babies have been killed in the UK alone.
According to Government figures given in 2006, of the 5.3 million abortions to residents of England and Wales:
- 0.4% were because of risk to the mother's life.
- 1.3% were because of foetal handicap.
- Over 98% were for social reasons.
One in five recorded pregnancies in England and Wales ends in abortion.
No wonder they now have a shortage of workers!
Before you consider an abortion think about the reality of the situation:
You are killing a human being - If you can live with that, so be it.
Gianna Jessen Abortion Survivor in Australia Part 2
Some footnotes
My wife and I lost a child to an ectopic pregnancy, so we know the pain a miscarriage or abortion can bring.
Obviously there ARE circumstances where a child may be sacrificed to save the mothers life, if the mother is not prepared to trust God for her life and/or that of the baby!
I was born when my mother had already had one and a half ovaries removed, after 'complications' with my sisters birth. She then contracted pleurisy in 'our' seventh month, and my father was told that they could probably ONLY save one, but which one? - Thankfully my father was an indecisive man and could only say "Try to save both of them" - and the authority which would have been given to Satan to kill one of us,was restored to God.
So my feelings on abortion are very mixed.
In life there is a habit of generational curses being reinforced down the line.
When I was 20 years old, my girlfriend told me she was pregnant, my indecisiveness in encouraging her with the pregnancy possibly contributed to her having an abortion. We lived together for 16 years and never married or had another child - I have often mourned that lost child.
When my eldest child was conceived I was a druggie with distinctly psychopathic tendencies, and his mother was very wary about raising family with me. We agreed that she would 'keep' the baby on two conditions:
- I would stop smoking hash (every 45 minutes of the day)
- If (should have been when) we separated she would not get 'lumbered with the child'
Of course I agreed, but I never kept the first condition, and she did keep the second!
When I came to faith, she left us! - and I became a single parent for four years, then I met my wife and we started our new life as believers joined by God in the sight of the congregation, and 'our' son had to learn to live in a Christian household, then to accommodate a new sister.
So I know that life is never simple, and choices made in the midst of the 'circumstances' can have long term regrets and effects on everyone involved. I have experience of most aspects of this subject - abortion sucks (quite literally) and I KNOW God has a better plan for us than the sytematic massacre of the unborn for reasons of personal choice.

I'll link it and let you know. Thought it was a productive conversation.
yes, 'educated' people can be ignorant - I mean educated about these issues.
Don't confuse evolution (science) with "Darwinism" (social 'science' - pseudoscience). "Darwinism", a social sciences construct has twisted a few science concepts and created used it for evil purposes.
Is society ever going to sort itself out? I doubt it, but then a lot of things are better than a few hundred or a few thousand years ago, when people would be burnt at the stake for promoting the healing properties of plants, and women were treated as property (and still are in some cultures).
Is religion going to fix things? Not if it sticks to unbending 'morals' that continue with hate and stigma because of ancient texts.
There's always going to be some nasty part of society - I read an appalling article how a mother killed her baby and ate its brain during a psychotic episode. Religionists might say possessed by the devil. Either way, this kind of horror happens. It happens in all of the animal kingdom.
Do you mind if I post our conversation to my blog?
I don't think it's too much off-topic - all of these topics are about ethics and morals and how we choose to treat human beings and life in general. Where does stigma come from? Deep-rooted beliefs that some people are just no good?
I've enjoyed the civil dialogue, btw. Usually I find your views quite rigid black & white.
'I'm afraid that is life, always has been' - do we concede defeat, or do we educate to get rid of deeply held stigma based on ignorance?
Perhaps the minorities are vociferous because they are tired of being made invisible and being despised for no good reason. Take intersex people - they are considered by society to be defective and typically have surgery in infancy to align themselves with society's opinion of what their genitals should look like - a penis considered too small is removed and then they are raised as a girl with secrets and shame regarding the biology they were born with. Advocates are requesting that surgery not be performed on infants and to assign a temporary gender until the child is old enough to confirm which gender they identify with and whether they want surgery or not. Yet, unconsentual surgery still takes place.
yep, thanks for clarifying. Yep, people seem to fear and despise minorities (ethnicities, disabilities, autism, atheism etc)
aqua - not sure quite what you're saying here, so not sure if I agree or not. It's an observation of mine that wherever I was forced to disclose my history of depression at the final stages before hiring, I didn't get the job. I point out what's positive rather than accentuate any negatives which could scare employers off.
I've just written an Intersex hub - thought I may as well, since researched it.
I've written a blog post so far - the emphasis is on the stigma of labels. Still undecided if will write hub on this topic.
I've been researching the topic of intersex (biologically in-between male & female). Apparently as many of 4% of humans are intersex, but most don't know it (as can have 'typical' anatomy & have offspring). Intersex was thought to be a rare deformity/defect/disorder, but it's now thought to be a fairly common biological variation (that still suffers terrible stigma). Gender roles, transgender, gays etc is a different kettle of fish altogether.
apparently Buddists are against killing insects. My son got bitten by an ant earlier, so probably wouldn't agree.
I don't like how animals are killed either for food either, yet I eat meat. Animals eat each other too.
I think there's several topics that are not black and white. eg intersex (a topic I have been reading about lately).
aqua - seems we agree on this issue, clarified in your replies, although I thought your religious convictions seemed to come thru very strongly in this hub.
I don't like any killing for convenience. As a child, I hated how the neighbour drowned kittens because they couldn't bothered getting their cats desexed.
I don't like how we are encouraged to kill cane toads here in Australia. Some people whack them with a golf club or cricket bat. I opted for the freezer - still felt guilty killing an animal because it is declared a pest.
I agree that this is an issue that is not black-and-white and should stay out of politics & religious debate.
here's an interesting hub a woman wrote exploring this topic & sharing her own experience:
technically, terminating ectopic pregnancies is still an abortion. That's why the issue of abortion is not black & white. I don't agree with people that have multiple abortions because they are too slack to prevent the pregnancy in first place. But I do see there are cases where people have their pregnancies terminated (eg ectopic), and they don't need to be judged for it.
Did you end up having to abort the baby from the ectopic pregnancy?
Hi Aguasilver,
Great hub and voted up!
There are a couple of additional things that you might consider adding.
I think changing laws on abortion is the highest goal believers should be aspiring to in a secular world where government is concerned. Christians will never convert the entire world to believe as we do, but using secular reasoning we can show logically how abortion has long term emotional consequences that in some cases ruin the lives of would-be mothers. It's also quite logical to point out that there are so many birth control options available in most developed countries today that the need for most unwanted pregnancies really no longer exists.
I personally try not to refer to abortionists as doctors. I fully realize that the individuals who perform abortions have degrees that proclaim them to be doctors, but a doctors highest calling is to heal, and to do no harm. From my standpoint abortionists do cause harm. First and foremost they take life for profit (sort of mercenary), and secondly there is an abundance of evidence that shows the resulting emotional harm often brought upon would-be mothers.
I understand and agree with your Christian stance on the subject, and I think you have done well to make it clear here. Thank you.
And it's certainly a better subject than one that popped-up on my feed today. (It's not from anyone that I follow, so I don't understand why it's on my feed....do you or anyone know how the feed works? I thought only followers' etc. showed up on each person's feed?).
But anyway, that hub is about Satanism! I didn't flag it, just trying to ignore it, but if anything should be deemed inappropriate, it's that hub, not yours agua.
What the heck??
Are the only things that are taboo anymore the facts of life and death?!
It stinks, aguasilver, that this hub was scrutinized and judged like that.
Somebody got whacked in the nerve! Free exchange of ideas has a costs - go figure. Peace
Great testimony.
Wow, great article, thank for sharing so much of your personal life.
John, great hub and great testimony! Let all things be done in faith. As you stated in this hub, without trusting the Creator, we put the power of life and death in the hands of lucifer and man. The watchman must blow the trumpet and sound the alarm. If the villagers don't heed the warning then the blood is not on your hands. If we don't sound the alarm and ring the bells and make a fuss, then the evil that happens is on us. We can't stop the enemy but we can warn everyone where he is coming from. From there it is up to them to make wise choices. Peace
You say it like it is aguasilver. Women and abortion clinics should not try to disguise it but call it what it is. Not just women feel guilt after the fact but some men do as well. I appreciate your honesty. God bless my friend.
Mike

We should have a button for sobering...I read this on the heals of the 180 video that is circulating facebook put out by an Australian preacher...just presenting again facts about abortion in relation to the holocost of WWll. http://www.180movie.com
You may have already seen it.
It is a choice... and sometimes a very difficult choice due to real health issues... but I am sad for the thousands who have died because of the choice of selfishness.
This may not change the minds of those who are decieved and set to do what they will do... but they can never say they were not informed. That is if they are brave enough to follow through and read and listen to all that you have presented.
Thank you...and blessings to you from your heavenly Father. Ulrike Grace
